Madhusanka Liyanage, PhD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Research at University College Dublin in Ireland, as well as a Adjunct Professor at the University of Oulu, Finland, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka and University of Sri Jarawardhenepura, Sri Lanka.  He will be reviewing technical papers submitted as guest IEEE Techblog posts and soliciting IEEE Techblog research paper submissions from universities and industry.

Madhusanka has received multiple degrees in electronics and communication engineering, including a PhD from the University of Oulu, Finland. He has also received multiple prestigious awards and fellowships, including the “2020 IEEE ComSoc Outstanding Young Researcher” award and being ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 20221 and 2022. He has co-authored over 150+ publications and received several Best Paper Awards, and has been awarded multiple research grants and awards. He has extensive experience in research project management, research group leadership, and has secured over 5 million euro in research funding. Liyanage is also a Funded Investigator of Science Foundation Ireland CONNECT Research Centre, an expert consultant at European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, and an expert reviewer for multiple funding agencies across the globe.

Boya Di, PhD, is  an Assistant Professor at Peking University. Her current research interests include reconfigurable intelligent surfaces enabled communications and sensing, multi-agent systems, edge computing, vehicular networks, and aerial access networks.  Boya serves as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and an editor for IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning for Communications and Networking. She has also served as a workshop co-chair for IEEE WCNC 2020&2021.

She received the best doctoral thesis award from China Education Society of Electronics in 2019, was the recipient of 2020 IEEE N2WOMEN Top-10 Rising Star in Communications and Networking, 2021 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award and 2022 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award.

Boya obtained her PhD degree from the Department of Electronics, Peking University, China, in 2019. Prior to that, she received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Peking University in 2014. She was a postdoc researcher at Imperial College London before returning to Peking University as an Assistant Professor.
